On 3 June 2024, Creo Engine shared an update on its partnership with Xellar, billed as Xellar x $CREO, to launch what the company described as the first ever WhatsApp wallet for Web3 gaming. The partnership brought together Darrel Wijaya, CTO and co-founder of Creo Engine, and Xellar founder Daniel Suwahjo, who set out to develop a wallet technology tailored for WhatsApp users across Indonesia.

Creo Engine presented the EZ Wallet as the outcome of that work, describing it as the first WhatsApp wallet designed to simplify the Web3 experience. The company contrasted it with traditional crypto wallets, which it said often require users to understand concepts such as seed phrases and private keys, and positioned the EZ Wallet as a product focused on user-friendliness and security.

Creo Engine listed three features. First, the wallet enables users to create IDs for quick and easy logins to CreoPlay, removing the need for multiple logins and passwords. Second, through its integration with WhatsApp, a widely used messaging app, it is meant to let people who are new to blockchain technology access and interact with Web3 games. Third, despite this simplicity, the wallet maintains what the company called high security standards through fragmentation and encryption.

Creo Engine said the collaboration aligns with CreoPlay's mission to make Web3 gaming more accessible and pointed to three benefits. The first is user-friendly access, which the company said simplifies onboarding for new users. The second is increased adoption: by making Web3 gaming more approachable for a broader audience, the company said, the wallet would drive higher adoption rates. The third is an enhanced gaming experience, giving players a secure, seamless way to manage their digital assets and interact with various games. Further details were published in a post on X.
