Darrel Wijaya, CTO and co-founder of Creo Engine, represented the company at the Level Up Your IP event on Sunday, 21 September 2025. The event took place at Queens Head in Kemang, South Jakarta. He took part in a session alongside Anome, Futurecoin, Sekuya and other intellectual property innovators.
During the session, Darrel Wijaya outlined how Creo Engine is building its ecosystem by turning game ideas and characters into intellectual property that can scale into Web3 and blockchain. He noted that monetizing IP is not only a matter of paid promotions.
The real challenge, according to Darrel Wijaya, is ensuring that communities do not feel exploited. He pointed to two principles: transparency, meaning a project clearly communicates its direction and benefits, and collaboration, meaning communities are involved in building the project so they feel ownership in its growth.
This perspective reflects Creo Engine's broader approach to IP. In the company's view, IP should not stop at brand visibility but evolve into community-driven assets, where both the project and its players grow together within the Web3 ecosystem.
Key points
- Transparency: clearly communicate the project's direction and benefits
- Collaboration: involve communities in building the project so they feel ownership in its growth
